We take inspiration from our Father of the nation who said: “ I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any. I refuse to live in other people’s houses as an interloper, a beggar or a slave “ Ever since the inception of neoliberal policies and so called globalization, our nation is facing the threat of becoming beggars and slaves of the invisible corporate economy which has ruthlessly spread its tentacles into every nook and corner of our day to day life and living.
Samata is a self- reliant marketing venture initiated by the Parishad production Centre, a social enterprise established for the promotion of empowerment of women by income generating activities. It’s an off shoot of Integrated rural technology centre, with an experience of 32 years in rural technological innovations. The IRTC is an accredited agency of government of kerala and it is declared as Center of Eexcellence in waste management. The IRTC is supported by department of science and Technology, Govt. of India and Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Govt. of Kerala. Through this initiative we plan to market a variety of standard, quality and healthy products for daily use produced by us without the help, support or intervention of any corporate agency or company.
Through this simple yet firm step, we hope to resist the entry of multinational corporations into our homes through item like soaps, detergents , tooth pastes and similar cleaning ,toiletry products, decentralized waste management devices including FRP, biogas plants, bio composter bin, etc,. The samata is also operating a well established nursery for the production and distribution of plants aiming the food security of the state. In that sense Samatha is not just a marketing program, it is a peoples resistance movement. We hope to include more and more consumables into our product spectrum and also to collaborate with large number of similar self reliant production and marketing groups all over the country.
We consider that the ordinary bathing soap that we use in our everyday life ( and also the detergent that we use for washing clothes) has the potential to become a powerful weapon to figt the multinational corporations who have entered into every nook and corner of our daily life ..The samata soap is a high quality low priced product that PPC proudly present to the people of India.
Other PPC products include high quality hand made detergents , tooth pastes , toiletries, waste management devices, agriculture equipments and so on. Apart from maintaining strict quality standards we also ensure that the production processes provide maximum job opportunities. Thus by supporting Samatha venture, you are participating in a peoples alternative development program that provides greater job opportunities on the one hand and resist the infiltration of multinational corporations and other neoliberal agents into our village economy with the sole intention of exploiting our human and natural resources .
WHAT OTHERS SAY?
Yes this is my favorite soap.It’s just a regular bar it smells really good, it doesn’t leave any residue when I’m washing. They do have other sense but this one just goes well with anybody send any natural body sent. This one really cleans everything. I have use this for many many years and I don’t turn to any other product now I just stick to this one this is by far my favorite.
